By Br. Francis Maluf, M.I.C.M.,and Br. Anthony Mary, M.I.C.M (tert.)
In this series of lectures Br. Francis continues with the history of the 21 Councils of the Church. Lateran V and Trent are the subject this time. In addition he takes a few minutes each night to begin what will be an ongoing series of brief Latin lessons. In each class, a small 3x5 card with a short phrase in Latin is given to each member of the class. Brother then translates the phrase, introduces some new vocabulary words and makes a few brief points concerning the grammar of the phrase. Each student then takes the card home to work on learning the new information before the next class. It is a delightfully simple way in which to improve one’s knowledge and understanding of the Church’s mater lingua. After Br. Francis finishes with the Latin, Br. Anthony Mary, Tertiary, discusses several Papal Encyclicals of Leo XIII and the importance of the doctrine of the social Kingship of Christ.
