Rev. Charles Poirier, SR
Once upon a time, yes, once upon a time. This is not the prologue to a child's storybook. Au contraire. It is the life of a neophyte seminarian in the early 1950s when the world was nicer and simpler. Actually, what I'm trying to say is that the people of that age were less complicated and more down to earth.
It is during this time that our story takes place. If you are old enough to remember this bygone era (or even if you weren't born yet), perhaps it will awaken fond memories of your own as we travel back in time to the mid 20th century.

The Foreward to this book:
Once upon a time, yes, once upon a time. This is not the prologue to a child’s storybook. On the contrary, it is the life of a neophyte seminarian in the early I 950s, when the world was nicer and simpler. What I hope I imparted is that the people of that age were less complicated and more down to earth.
It was a time before the Internet; when few people had television sets; when the biggest problems at school were gum chewing and tardiness. It was a time when Church services were done in the ancient languages of Latin and all priests wore their collars and nuns their full habits.
It is during this time that our story takes place. If you are old enough to remember this bygone era (or even if you weren’t born vet), perhaps it will awaken fond memories of your own as we travel back in time to the mid 20th, century.
