By Br. Anthony Mary M.I.C.M. (tert.)
Br. Anthony Mary, M.I.C.M.,Tert., gives a fascinating and thorough course on the History of the Age of the Apostles. He uses two primary source materials, the Acts of the Apostles and the History of the Jews by Flavius Josephus, a Romanized Jewish historian who was contemporary with Our Lord. The Apostolic Age ended with the death of the last Apostle, St. John, in the year 100 AD. Covered are the lives and travels of Sts. Peter and Paul, some interesting information on the missions of other Apostles and prominent disciples, the ending of the Old Covenant, and the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in the year 70. Josephus provides a first hand account of the siege and destruction of the Holy City with astounding revelations of what went on within the city walls. The Council of Jerusalem, pattern for all future Ecumenical and diocesan synods and Councils, is covered in these classes as well. The balance of each class was spent discussing the three books of the Old Testament that honor the faith and heroism of three valiant women. (28 tapes)
