Theme: In the World But Not of It
Title: The Secret of Our Lady’s Men
By Br. John Marie Vianney, M.I.C.M., Tert.
The speaker says the “secret of Mary’s Men” is perseverance: faithful, stubborn pursuit of the good despite obstacles, especially for those consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This should appear in daily life as: doing one’s duties of state, using each encounter to save a soul, defending Catholic truth even when unpopular, and continuing in prayer and sacrifice when discouraged.
He then describes the Third Order’s ongoing classes, lectures, and formation, noting steady membership growth as proof of lasting commitment. A new “front” opens: petitions to the Pope and Vatican offices for Father Feeney’s rehabilitation and official recognition of their order, with a call for signatures and prayer.
He ends with a moving text from Father Feeney on the hard joy of trying to grasp God, claiming only heaven and hell are worth thinking about: the damned are those who “gave up,” while his own—and his listeners’—resolution must be: “I shall not give up.”
