Chris De Vos — Abandoning Scientistic Cliches
Structured around the debunking of a handful of deadly scientific clichés, Chris de Vos’ excellent talk will prove a valuable reference for anyone unsure of how to respond when faced with sophistries such as: “The Bible is not a science book,” “Faith and science ought to stay separate,” and, “Trust the science.” He presents the hopeful message that, whereas in the 80’s the Pope himself lamented that no one was speaking of the Genesis creation narrative—today the doctrines of Creation are being defended openly and by many. Scientific clichés, he says, are part of the overarching conspiracy against the Truth, but given time, the deception will always unmask itself.
