By Brother Francis Maluf, M.I.C.M.

This commentary on Chapter 1 of St. Paul to the Romans is taken from a course of seventeen classes.

Brother Francis examines the meaning of the virtue of faith, which the apostle introduces at the start of this powerful letter to the Church in Rome. He also explains why Saint Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, indicts the pagans of Rome for abandoning a prior knowledge through reason of one God and then abandoning that and following their own foolish imaginings, which led to idolatry and habitual lust. Unnatural lust is clearly spelled out for particular condemnation, the result of falling further and further away from virtue. Brother stresses our responsibility to oppose these vices, not privately only, but in public. Silence is consent.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel. For it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth..." (Romans 1:16)
