By Charles Coulombe
Charles explains the unbroken continuity of authority in the Catholic Church from the Apostles to the present-day bishops. He highlights that this succession, guaranteed through the laying on of hands, ensures the Church’s doctrinal integrity and sacramental validity. The talk contrasts the Catholic understanding of legitimate spiritual authority with the fragmentation found in Protestant denominations that lack this apostolic link. The talk emphasizes that fidelity to this lineage is what preserves unity, truth, and divine guidance within the Church. Ultimately, he calls listeners to recognize and cherish the gift of apostolic succession as a sign of Christ’s enduring presence in His Church.
