Theme: Doctrinal Certitude Amid Growing Confusion
Title: Joyful Warriors; We Fight to Win
By Br. Anthony Mary, M.I.C.M., Tert.
In what Br. Anthony Mary, M.I.C.M. (Tert.) dubs the “Esprit de corps of Saint Benedict Center”, he explains why Catholics ought to be joyful, for there are no gloomy saints, and warriors, for we battle against the world, the flesh, and the devil, in these troubling times. He illustrates his points by taking inspiration from Fr. Leonard Feeney, the words of the Holy Ghost through the prophet David, and William Shakespeare. From Fr. Feeney, we see how he recognized the unique spirit of our age and combated it. From King David, we see how he had more than enough opportunity for despair with his seemingly countless enemies written in the Psalms, yet triumphed. Lastly Br. Anthony, as a teacher of literature, draws from a play of Shakespeare's in demonstrating our fight for Our Lord and Our Lady. In addition, there are enlightening snippets of Br. Francis Maluf's sound and clear wisdom. This is a talk that will invigorate you to fight the good fight and run the good race effectively.
