Title: Roman & Byzantine Liturgical Complementarity

Father opens with a Byzantine prayer and explains that for Eastern Christians the liturgy is the heart of all spiritual life.
He recalls his earlier talk arguing, with St. Thomas Aquinas, that religious life is the objectively most perfect state because it allows total consecration to God and the perfection of charity.
He insists that the primary purpose of religious life is to live the Church’s liturgy fully and daily, cultivating contemplative prayer like Mary at the feet of Christ.
He urges listeners not to stop at protesting post‑conciliar abuses but to move into a deep “profession” of faith through a rich liturgical life, which will itself correct many abuses.
He then begins introducing Byzantine liturgy and the Eastern rites as a precious part of Catholic heritage, meant to complement the Roman Rite and enrich the Church’s unity in diversity.
