Title: The Catholic Family: A Garden of Vocations
By Sr. Marie Thérèse, M.I.C.M.
In this address, Sister Therese emphasizes the critical importance of the dogma "Outside the Church there is no salvation" for understanding the missionary vocation of the Church and the religious life. She argues that a watered-down or denial of this doctrine has led to a crisis in religious vocations and a loss of missionary zeal. Sister Therese recounts the heroic sacrifices of missionary saints who were motivated by the belief that they were bringing sanctifying grace to souls who would otherwise be lost. She contends that the post-Vatican II spirit of ecumenism and religious liberty has undermined this essential motivation, leading to a decline in conversions and a misunderstanding of the true purpose of religious life. Her talk is a plea for a return to this foundational dogma to restore the urgency and clarity of the Church's mission to save souls.
