This set of talks are about preparing for a "total consecration" to Jesus through Mary, as taught by St. Louis Marie de Montfort. Brother explains that this consecration is a way to live out one's baptismal promises to the fullest by doing everything with, in, and by the Blessed Virgin Mary. The preparation involves turning away from the "spirit of the world," which is characterized by sin and attachment to worldly things. It also emphasizes self-knowledge, recognizing one's own sinfulness and complete dependence on God. Ultimately, the goal is to achieve Christian perfection, which the speaker defines as the obtaining of divine wisdom, through ardent desire, persevering prayer, universal mortification, and true devotion to Mary.
